The fact that #Valve settled in the past is only due to the #SueHappy nature of #US #courts, where filing nefariously isn't punished and where #settlements are cheaper than fighting for the #truth, with #ShellCompanies being weaponized as disposable shields from harm!
I'm just glad such bs patents are null and void in #Germany because they are neither "new" nor "an actual invention that solves a technical problem"...

We need EFF supporters to file public comments opposing these rules this week. The USPTO is moving quickly, and staying silent will only help those who profit from abusive patents.
I wonder how game studios will circumvent the hot water of US patents on gaming.
My bet is that they're going to release games without the patented mechanics on US soil, leaving the rest of the world with the complete game.
