Set aside (no pun intended) the absurdity of offsetting ecological destruction by promising to not destroy different places and systems…

But a scheme where developers can gain credit for offsets by paying into a fund that will only later try to actually invest in ecological protection seems designed to fail.

@IndigenousFoodSov I like this add. Why?

Because of its message? Yes.

But especially because we should continuously be reminding us each other that other living beings are the ones we owe our existence to.

We need to develop gratitude to these other beings and to those who sustain them.
More and more I believe that we would be better off once we understand and accept these facts in our set of values.

Countries (🇨🇦 🇬🇧 🇨🇷 🇨🇵 +?) pledging to protect 30% of land for #nature #biodoversity, I have ?s. Water & air pollution, micro plastics, noise, critters, plants... don't recognize "protected" boundaries. Lines drawn on a map don't do enough. If we wish to continue with our current standard of living, & share that luxury with all our brothers & sisters, we will need to protect the entire planet, & 4 more as well, to keep the place habitable. Bigger changes are needed. Ideas?
