Stephan Kurz@domwass I agree #JabRef is the best GUI thing for Bib(La)TeX available on Linux desktop so far, but the Java implementation and the sometimes quirky interface choices make #BibDesk far superior… Nowadays I mostly use #Zotero for its web connectivity and group library capabilities – and then export using #BetterBibTeX plugin, manually editing the raw BibTeX if I need an item in my master.bib file…

These are literally the only two pieces of software I miss after moving out of the Apple walled garden in 2014 (happy #fedora user since).
#JabRef and #SumatraPDF are not really comparable, but they get most of the jobs done…

Ruben van de Vijver@dingemansemark I use #overleaf for writing, a web based #latex editor with no support for Zotero or Jabref directly. #overleaf is great to manage joint writing projects. There is a fee that allows you to collaborate with more than 3 people, but at #hhu we convinced the administration to buy a license for the whole university. I manage my references with #bibdesk and import my bib file into #overleaf. I manage my papers with the app #readcube, Mendeley is not supported by 🍎.
Arindam BasuYess! #Bibdesk the unsung hero for us with #Macs! Pair up with #Bibdesk with #Skim, 🙂 and pulling in annotations from PDFs cannot get more intuitive! Plus I find it extraordinary how much punch they pack in such small footprints of software size!
I still use #Bibdesk 1 and #Skim 2 everyday.
You can never have enough bibliography and reference management software if you ask me, 🙂

Henning Füller@perspektivbrocken Same setup here (literature in #BibDesk and writing either #Bear .md files or #Scrivener). In all cases #pandoc links citekeys in the document with the database and generates .pdf .docx etc with formatted bibliographies. Can highly recommend.
