A very happy 91st birthday to Lee Meriwether!

Lovely Lee has appeared in many of my favourite TV series and films, including, of course, Star Trek and Batman (as far as I’m concerned, she is still the best movie Catwoman). But it was when Lee played Dr Ann MacGregor on The Time Tunnel that a very young Roo first lost his heart to her.

All my very best wishes to a very special lady.

BATTY BRITISH BIRTHDAY, BATMAN!

Can you imagine being a kid in 1966 when your mum, dad or grandparents brought home this copy of the TV Times? If you already knew Batman from the American comics—the ones you’d occasionally find o…

I've just realised that Alan Napier was 63 when he was playing Alfred. Gulp! That's my age…

Actually, looking at him, you can see he's in the prime of life. Just a bit of a kid, really.

This morning, I was introduced to the term 'Brontësaurus,' which had me in stitches, and went down the rabbit hole of looking up who else had thought of that portmanteau (like any other normal person with a thriving social life would). Ended up discovering chapter #47 of the Batman '66 digital comic (written by Jeff Parker, with art by Mike Allred and Scott Kowalchuk; screenshot via the BrontëBlog: https://bronteblog.blogspot.com/2014/11/batman-vs-robotic-emily-bronte-saurus.html), which features the villain Bookworm piloting a mechanical steampunk dino, having trapped Batman and Robin inside a gigantic copy of 'Wuthering Heights'.

I'm seriously 1000x more intrigued to read this comic now than to watch the Emerald Fennell film. Chances are, it's probably more respectful to the source material, too.

60 Years Ago - The Batman '66 TV Series

Shortly after I arrived on the planet, a television series appeared featuring a comic book character who would grow to be my favorite of them all. My first recollection of this TV series is actually the film that was based on the first season of the series. In the film, Batman and Robin have to deal with the likes of The Joker ( Caesar Romero ), The Riddler ( Frank Gorshin ), Catwoman ( Lee Meriwhether ), and The Penguin ( Burgess Meredith ).
