So a while back I watched the 2022 Reeves Directed #TheBatman, and…it's fine. Good, actually. While I am firmly on the #AdamWest side of the #Batman debate, I thought it was okay.

That said, here's what I don't like: in the comics, Batman has a villain that's a giant were-bat, a mind-controlling mastermind with a Alice In Wonderland obsession, a freezy scientist with a tragic back story, and a guy with a distressing obsession with condiments.

(That last one sounds like a joke, but it isn't).

Anyway, none of those fit in with this dark grounded(ish) reality in which they can't even be bothered to get The Penguin's height right.

Do I want a batman movie with the Condiment King as the antagonist? Kinda, but we don't have to go that far. Man Bat fit in fine with the tone set by the Kevin Conroy Batman cartoon.

So let's have *that*. Grimdark edgelord Batman has been an interesting side road, and some of the movies have been alright, but put Bats up against The Ventriloquist already, yeah?

Borracho with Jake Starr (7", Savage Magic Record, 2020)

i normally never buy all versions, normally one version is completely enough for me.

On the last Bandcamp Friday I wanted to finally buy this 7” from Borracho directly. I haven't seen this 7" on any German /European mailorder.
but on Bandcamp with postage , taxes, some strange bandcamp calculation the 7" (which costs normally 10$) would have been 36$.

but my old buddy Jake was offering me then all 3 versions for 30 bucks including postage - who can say no to this? not me!

305 pressed, 105 on black vinyl, 100 on opaque purple and 100 on opaque green vinyl.

I was touring with Adam West in 2005 - the singer Jake was making some new bands, and the guitar player Mario and bass player Steve founded Borracho.

so of course, me as a Adam West fan had to get this record. they are covering 2 Adam West songs: "sixth son of a seventh son" aand "bulletproof"

I'm still hoping there will be an Adam West reunion at some point...

Today marks 60 years since Adam West's 'Batman' made its premiere on ABC in 1966. The third live-action adaptation of the character, after Lewis Wilson and Robert Lowery, and most definitely the campiest and cheesiest. Say what you like about the gloomy and more "realistic" depictions that came later, but there's a certain innocent charm in the utter ridiculousness that defined this show that cannot be compared.
