Remembering the wonderful James Darren on what would have been his 90th birthday. For many fans, he's Star Trek DS9's lounge-singing hologram Vic Fontaine. But to this 1960s kid, heโll forever be my childhood hero, Dr Tony Newman, lost in the depths of The Time Tunnel.
As a boy I'd go somersaulting around the play park in a green turtleneck sweater, pretending to be Tony arriving "somewhere along the infinite corridors of time". Happy memories.
A very happy 91st birthday to Lee Meriwether!
Lovely Lee has appeared in many of my favourite TV series and films, including, of course, Star Trek and Batman (as far as Iโm concerned, she is still the best movie Catwoman). But it was when Lee played Dr Ann MacGregor on The Time Tunnel that a very young Roo first lost his heart to her.
