Thinking about reading all the titles from Image Comics in order that they debuted over the first handful of years. Of course I've read some of the classics, but there's a LOT of them I never really considered reading until now just out of curiosity since I've always found the company interesting.

Who is your favourite fictional character from any work whose name (if they only have one) or first name begins with the letter "A".

Please include the series/work the character is from and why they are your favourite.

Include the hashtag #FavCharacterAtoZ also, so we can easily group the answers.

*and yes we are going to do 26 of these, maybe not every day, it depends on the response rate

Working on a prototype for a #BlueOrchid card #game. Lots of #monsters and even a few more heroes to design. I was watching a report of a snowstorm in #Canada and thought a snow monster made sense.

Make sure to pick up all the #comics and merch at https://www.bewarethecheese.com/blueorchid/.

Blue Orchid

I have been holding off on this because I started to watch The Boys years ago - the premise that giving people superpowers doesn't make them super-virtuous was promising. But I couldn't take it.

Spoilers for Invinicble s1e1 follow.

I tried Invincible s1e1, and most of the episode was such a relief. Superpowers combined with light family drama, believable relationships, and the dad-teen dynamic really had me sold. Very wholesome. I was reassured.

Then I get to the final scene. Naw dog. The earlier combat scenes I can take - gunplay, tag-team rescues, real peril (Darkwing under the tank). But Omni-man dealing out brutal, vicious, and very explicit and gory death toward a bunch of terrified heroes? This is not entertaining. I do not need this done to my soul.

Is the rest of the series like this? If so I will skip it.

That's a wrap for 'Daredevil: Born Again' season 2. I liked this season more than the first. It wasn't totally free of 'fan-service over logicality or substance' Marvelisms (MCU-isms?), but overall it stuck the landing. It didn't shy away from the sociopolitical messaging and, all things considered, made it clearer than you'd expect, it had several great episodes, and more than a few standout moments that channelled the original Netflix show too. Episode 5 was the hands-down peak of the season for me.

It was good to finally see the return of Krysten Ritter, though I wish there was even more Jessica Jones punching things. I also liked the liberties they took with Bullseye, it made him more interesting, complex, and fun to watch. I didn't much care for Daniel as a character in S1, but Michael Gandolfini's arc really worked for me in S2, and had some unexpectedly touching scenes as well. A solid finale that sets up things, and characters, to come for season 3. Wonder how next week's ' The Punisher: One Last Kill' will tie into how everything wrapped.

TL;DR: More Jessica Jones punching things, please.
