“Miss Teschmacherrrrrr!!!”
Very sad to lose another cast member from Superman: The Movie, a film that has given me so much joy over the years. Rest in peace, Valerie Perrine.
A fan of a certain age, or a greying geek if you will. I grew up with and still love old-school Sci-Fi and Telefantasy from the 1960s and '70s (some of that newfangled '80s stuff too). I'd rather we were friends than followers.

It’s another beautiful day in The Village.
(This picture always reminds me of Jerry peeking his head out of his mousehole to see if Tom is around.)

Happy 95th birthday to THE Captain, William Shatner.

21st March 1981. In the shadow of the towering radio telescope, a body lies crumpled and broken. The curly-haired man, dressed in a burgundy coat and a ridiculously long scarf, is the Doctor, and he is dying.
“It’s the end, but the moment has been prepared for…”
You can keep your CGI firework displays. Forty-five years on, this is still the best regeneration.

Remembering Patrick McGoohan on what would have been his 98th birthday.

I’m still thoroughly enjoying the gloriously bonkers saga that is Planet of the Apes vs. Fantastic Four.
I don’t go in for collecting lots of variant covers; I just pick the one I like best and stick with it. For issue 2, there was no contest – this tribute to Jack Kirby’s cover for Fantastic Four issue 12 had to be the one. I’ve always loved the original; in fact, I even have it as a fridge magnet.
A very happy birthday to Conrad Turner, a.k.a. Captain Black. Born in Manchester in 2029… oh.
I’ll get back to you in a couple of years.
