Last night at bedtime the owls were calling loudly. I stood there in the dark, enchanted, as the conversation went on and on. But what kind of owls were they?

Another very superb owl: I was standing on a path next to a marsh when a bird from down the way started flying towards me. As I stood transfixed, the barred owl landed on a branch of a tree just on the other side of the path!!! This isn't my best barred owl shot, but it was my first one. :)
