…if it were reasonable to expect that someone could get onto a plane with a bluetooth-activated bomb, that is a whole other level of what the hell. That does not inspire confidence in safety protocols.
Maybe a way to mitigate this (use of scary word) in the future is to have folk show their network names as they board?
I was thinking about this. Airlines could have signs reminding people to have more benign names for their discoverable networks, but that would also inform stupid criminals, but what criminal would be that stupid, so back to warning people about naming, so folk aren’t frightened. But even if a terrorist wanted to terrorize by having “bomb” show up on networks, if they were able to act on that, by the time a plane were to react, boom. The naming is moot with regards to safety.

The flight from US to Spain last night that got turned around last night because a teenager thought it would be fun to name his Bluetooth “bomb.”
“The unidentified teen has not been hit with any local charges, but the FBI is now investigating the situation, sources said.”
I think the embarrassment the kid is feeling over this should be enough. Please, I hope media never identifies him.
