I'm glad that Rocknix is installed on and boots off of a microSD card rather than replacing the handheld's internal storage (and wiping out Android).

There are definitely issues with power consumption, no real sleep support, extremely sluggish response on "wake", etc.

I think I'll be bopping back to Android for the time being.

Since I've migrated from the original Ayn Odin2 handheld over to the Odin2 Portal, I finally decided to try out Rocknix on the device.

Installing the custom bootloader was really easy and so was flashing the image onto the microSD card that I had been using with Android.

The only painful part was the high-pitched noise coming from the device during one of the three setup steps it does to prep everything. So far, the sound hasn't come back yet 🤞🏼

My brother's Ayn Odin 2 Pro needed some screen replacement, as his unit came defective from the factory and I spent sometime replacing it (as well as a broken bumper which also happened to be broken)

I have recorded the footage of it for my tiktok account. Honestly, I would advise against spending more than a 100$ on devices with this level of QA

I'm kinda sitting on the fence when it comes to #gaming #handhelds. #SteamDeck look fine, but not very portable with that huge screen and limited battery.

I've been considering an #AynOdin2 but I'm also not sure that #Android will give me enough control to emulate all the weird stuff I like.

Something like the #Ayaneo Air Plus might be a nice middle ground
