Mit #Freecad habe ich mich endlich man an die #Assembly4 #Workbench gewagt und einen ersten Versuch gestartet. #done
More progress on my 'Flatpack' #FreeCAD Workbench idea. The LCS points are already places as part of the #Assembly4 workflow, this Macro takes those points and creates Pockets or Pads based on the position of the Point, inside or outside the Bounding Box. https://git.oit.cloud/morgan/Flatpack_WB/src/branch/development/Macro/FlatpackWB.FCMacro

ok.... I have this dream #FreeCAD workbench to simplify one of my most common workflows, flat pack plywood construction. The issue is designing slot/tab at the sketch level is a pain, especially when making major changes like changing stock thickness and variable stock thickness (narrow finger, thick slot). My goal is to use #Assembly4 LCS points to set locations and have the WB generate slots and finger. Brain dump here. https://git.oit.cloud/morgan/Plywood_WB

#FreeCADFriday Revisiting a project as my 'I'm unemployed and will work on what I wish!' project. I'm really enjoying my approach on this project. Each piece of the #Assembly4 are created in the PartDesign WB, top down as if cut from plywood (cause they will be) and put together using Assembly 4. This allows a ton a flexibility because my part histories stay very shallow. DatumPlanes, offset with the same Spreadsheet values used for Pads, are used to not need to worry about Face names changing.

A rough idea for butterfly-like "pocket scissors", inspired by the #Baliscissors, but simpler and ~8 cm short. Made with #FreeCAD #Assembly4

The pins will be replaced by the ends of a torsion spring (like those in clothespegs) that would sit in the middle of the axis. They connect handle and blade: Pushing the blades together when the handles are folded inwards or pushed together to make a cut.

Getting pretty good with the #FreeCAD #Assembly4 workbench. It's been really helpful to visualizing fit before #CNC'ing parts

@captain_morgan Very nice! I can't say much regarding #Assembly4 because I've chosen #assembly3 for myself.

Looks like something for a #lasercutter or a #CNC. Can you give us more.details?

#freecad

this is great. I'm finally getting used to using #Assembly4 in #FreeCAD. It's changed the way I'm designing, so far for the better.
