Sent my first novella to betas, a form I could use for some ideas I've worked on before.

What are your fave novellas (defined as under 40k). I think A Christmas Carol and Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde stand up. High Times in the Low Parliament, This is how you lose the Time War, River of Teeth, and Fish! (by Ida Keough) are def worth a read.

It's a spooky historical detective mystery - 1880s London - and a fantasy set in a world rather like ours and a story about two women in a long term relationship and how that's under strain.
