What are your experiences with ownership of equipment/computers/books/etc. purchased with research budgets of personal PhD/postdoc/tenure-track fellowships?
Does the fellowship holder own these items and can take them with them after their fellowship? Or does the host institution/funder/someone else retain ownership?
Are there differences between institutional/national/international fellowships or countries?
