Question for those in #academia:

What are your experiences with ownership of equipment/computers/books/etc. purchased with research budgets of personal PhD/postdoc/tenure-track fellowships?

Does the fellowship holder own these items and can take them with them after their fellowship? Or does the host institution/funder/someone else retain ownership?

Are there differences between institutional/national/international fellowships or countries?

I’m just a journal editor standing in front of potential reviewers begging you to please open up emailed review requests and press the button to either accept or decline in a timely fashion. This helps move the review process along more quickly which is particularly important for early career researchers.
