Media Conference:

… I don’t think the individual Police officers are the problem. I think the larger organisation needs to be scrutinised further about its training, and what it deems ‘appropriate’.

The ‘active incident’ in a general area does not excuse the heavy-handling of what occurred on a peaceful, incident-absent bus.

As consequence, an innocent person was injured AND traumatised. This should be considered heavily.

Very disappointing: The racial profiling. The lack of due process. The lack of professionality. The lack of dignity and respect for the ‘suspected’.

What on earth is taught at Police Academies in Australia?

It’s absurd, and it’s true.

In Australia, it's 'easier to get a permit to destroy nature' than fix it. Here's why:

In Australia, it's 'easier to get a permit to destroy nature' than fix it. Here's why

Australia has big ambitions for restoring its degraded environment, but the very regulations meant to protect nature could be thwarting that progress.

Putting aside the particular individuals of this incident. (and its judgment)

... I'm wondering whether or not there was a 'conflict of interest' assessment undertaken by Corrective services.
The risks associated between mutually familiar people in a prison setting might need to be re-examined.

The fact of the matter is that the current older generation of Australians (Millennial and older) have all been raised to understand Public intoxication as a criminal justice issue, rather than a health issue.

If Australian Political circles, State and Federal, had put more into public awareness and agency reforms towards the idea of intoxication as a health issue needing medical attention, than Barnaby would have most definitely been treated with more respect.

Blaming bystanders just shows our Politicians debate the world from a tall Ivory tower, detached from reality and the history that shaped it.
