One thing that ‘Pink Batts’ should have taught Australia is ‘Do not trust tradies with quality and safety.’

So MYOB is teaming up with Microsoft in the great AI accounting arms race.
Worth remembering: Microsoft already has its own competing stack (Dynamics etc), so this isn’t charity — it’s about pulling MYOB deeper into its ecosystem.
History suggests that getting into bed with Microsoft rarely ends well for the smaller partner (just ask Nokia…).
Feels less like a partnership and more like a slow absorption play.
Unsure if this was the case with CDU but,…
Separation of Duties and other organisational management processes are a ‘cost’. But it exists for the purpose of minimising risks of widespread systematic problems.
In this modern age where business ‘leaders” are tempted to engage in easy ‘cost cutting’ exercises in the name of ‘efficiency’ and ‘productivity’, … it’s worth also remembering that some alleged ‘inefficiencies’ exist for a reason.

In the Senate in Washington, DC, scenes unfolded where two maps were compared, measuring Chinese diplomatic presence against that of the United States. The result was self-explanatory. The era of supposed inevitability in global markets and geopolitics is over, and aggressive US foreign policy no longer comes without consequences. More and more countries are turning toward the emerging economic power centered in Beijing. Even parts of the Western Hemisphere, historically tightly bound to the US, are openly talking about a break with Washington. At the last World Economic Forum in Davos, clear ruptures were on display. Canada’s Prime Minister Mark Carney admitted the international “rules-based order” was a fiction the West collectively agreed on because it benefited from it. Carney added that this is now set to change radically, as Washington is even turning against its own allies.".
Idiot.
… but also curious about the AFL club and whether they are raising awareness among their club members about how to navigate violence and be legal/street savvy.

2025 Stat of the Year: Chinese cars are now #2 in Australia, overtaking Thailand. 🚗
In a pure free market with no local factories to protect, value and tech win.
The question isn't "if" they will hit #1, but "when." (My bet: 2027).
But here is why Australia is actually crucial to this revolution—from our lithium to our AI researchers. We are the software to their hardware.
