Separation of Duties and other organisational management processes are a ‘cost’. But it exists for the purpose of minimising risks of widespread systematic problems.

In this modern age where business ‘leaders” are tempted to engage in easy ‘cost cutting’ exercises in the name of ‘efficiency’ and ‘productivity’, … it’s worth also remembering that some alleged ‘inefficiencies’ exist for a reason.

Calls for financial literacy to be taught at school?
https://www.abc.net.au/news/2026-01-24/calls-to-make-financial-literacy-mandatory-in-schools/106257050

My op: Financial literacy is first and foremost the responsibility of parents. Schools are already ridiculously time poor, to be expected to add more content.

I’m a father and an IT worker. The social media ban won’t protect our kids – it will hurt them

The social media world is not some alternate reality our children “escape” into – it is the reality they live in. The sooner we accept that, the sooner we can help them thrive within it.

Ingenious to say ANU School of Music is ‘not a conservatory’ when in practice it is one since it was first established.
And its reputation and connection to international and local music is as a ‘conservatory’.

The changes are effectively a stake into the soul of the School of Music, and replacing it with a completely different program. What responsibility will Board of Directors take for the impact this has on the wider community?
