@openatvt @chartgerink #DSpaceCRIS has been for many years an extension to #DSpace (@dspacetweets) maintained by @4Science The major upgrade to DSpace 7 technical inconsistencies led to a seperate distribution of DSpace-CRIS maintained by #4science. Nevertheless 4science is a major contributor & part of the governance of DSpace.
It is in the interest of all parties concerned to include CRIS features into DSpace

Finished your #ORCID integration into your system and providing an ORCID login from now on? But what happens when emails do not match? That‘s why we applied for the @ORCID_Org Global Participation Fund #GPF to solve this problem with #DSpaceCRIS. We think our solution developed together with #4science may be relevant for other integrations as well. And hopefully it will be migrated to #DSpace soon. ORCID Login improvement for DSpace-CRIS - Project Results

On DSpace and DSpace-CRIS before Version 2023.02.00 the login via ORCID was problematic, if the eMail address was hidden on ORCID side or if the user had a different eMail address on ORCID than on DSpace. Within the project, a solution was developed for DSpace-CRIS, which asks the user for an email address, if it's not provided via ORCID directly and which gives the option to connect an ORCID login to a DSpace login in case of different eMail addresses on both sides. This presentation shows the results of the project to improve ORCID login on DSpace-CRIS and demonstrates, how the new developments are working.

Welcome! You are invited to join a webinar: Enabling Value featuring 4Science: Showcasing ORCID-enabled scholarly service providers. After registering, you will receive a confirmation email about joining the webinar.

Enabling Value is a webinar series that showcases how ORCID-enabled scholarly service providers enable fast and simple registry interoperability for ORCID member organizations and other scholarly institutions. On 11 October, 4Science joins us to share about DSpace and DSpace-CRIS. We’ll discuss the differences between the systems and how each works with the ORCID registry. Additionally, TU Hamburg University Library will present a live demonstration of their DSpace-CRIS integration and share their experiences.

To all my non-existent followers who wouldn't dare to ask: I am indeed running under #DSpaceCRIS 7 supported by #4science since the end of June. #finally Happy to celebrate the migration over the issues still in the backlog.
