Today is the International Day for #BiologicalDiversity!

The #RedListIndex of #ThreatenedSpecies shows a continuous #decline from 0.805 in 1995 to 0.745 in 2025📉 (UN).

This negative #trend is not in line with the aim of @UN #SDG15 to “halt the #loss of #biodiversity”⛔.

#TLDR: In #Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 trat 2016 ein Gesetz in Kraft, das #Nachhaltigkeit und #Gemeinwohl institutionell erzwingt.
Der "Well-being of Future Generations Act" verpflichtet alle öffentlichen Einrichtungen zu 5 Arbeitsweisen, um 7 definierte Ziele zu erreichen.

🕵️‍♂️ Ein unabhängiger Beauftragter für künftige Generationen berät, kontrolliert und veröffentlicht Berichte.

🇺🇳 Die Ziele ähneln den #Nachhaltigkeitsziele'n der #UN (#SDG) und entspringen der #Brundtland-Definition.
Grundstein dieser Gesetzgebung war die Forderung des "Government of Wales Act" von 1998, dass das Parlament nachhaltige Entwicklung fördern muss.
