My Bitmap Brothers Journey Begins - The Oasis BBS

Retronaut shares his unforgettable first day at Bitmap Brothers, revealing the beginnings of a dream job in 1990s game development.

The Oasis BBS
Working on a little something. Wanted to do this for 2 years now. Using #bricscad coz nothing else felt right or worked (I'm on #linux). Last time I made something in 3D was over 24 years ago and we used #maya, #3dstudio and SolidWorks. Also had to use #autocad, so BricsCAD feels most familiar.
The last time I did some #3dModeling was 20 yrs ago in #3DStudio. I forgot many things since then.
Recently tried out #Fusion360, #Blender and #FreeCad and yes,
FreeCad is my thing. I need to fix the roller blinds belt winder part. First ugly prototype:
I wonder if I have my #dos time #3dstudio creations still on some random disk.

So old it is not true anymore ;) 3D Studio Release 4. Found it in an old archive of mine. I have no idea what to do in there any more. I know i must have known how to put Text and 3d-ify it in the 'Lofter' at some time, because that »Blackshroud«-thing was a musical project of mine. geez

Nice Interface for the DOS-Era though. Renderer is awfully slow in #dosbox. #3dstudio #dos

3D Studio 4.x

3D Studio, not to be confused with the later "3d Studio Max" product, is a DOS-based tool from Autodesk for creating 3d models and animations.
