I may not enjoy using #Fusion360 but i have to admit that it is *amazingly* capable. Also, it's incredible to be able to sit down for an hour or so, and end up with this *incredibly specialized* shape and be able to send it to a printer that will give me a physical version in ~3hrs for ~$2 USD
Side Note: the "loft" capabilities of fusion are SO much better than #Shapr3D

I'd go do it in #Shapr3D but I actually need (or at least really want) some of the custom hole generation functionality that Fusion has.
I dunno why the Shapr folks have been completely ignoring the fact that SCREWS EXIST. 😡

Glad i stopped fucking with it until I could be sure it was saved. Only wasted THE ENTIRE MORNING.
This #Fusion360 rant brought to you by the file I started, couldn't get it to save, didn't want to get too far into, so tried quitting, had it just sit there spinning for 10 minutes. Told it to “pause" uploading it. Quit. Re-opened. Couldn't find the damn file.
Couldn't get to the UI to set some files to read only without OPENING a specific file (this is by design?!). Did that. Now see it, but can't open & it's just hung on uploading for like 30+ minutes.
I hate #Fusion360 SO fucking much.
I especially hate LITERALLY EVERYTHING related to it's fucking cloud-backed file system.
It's fucking slow. I don't need it. I don't WANT it. It means I can't work on things offline.
I hate its login process via a web page.
I hate the way you interact with models and everything else.
Core functionality and capabilities are great, but EVERYTHING that involves the human is terrible.
So I found a fix for the #autodesk #fusion360 issue.
The core problem was that Autodesk would take a very long time to try and start up (stuck at the black splash screen), and then it would only be able to start in offline mode. Problem was that one or more of the bajillion URLs Autodesk needs (because their software is managed/programmed by a bunch of assholes) isn’t getting connected to. (See image with the red indicators.)
Solution was to go into the computer and override the DNS to Cloudflare 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1.
I had to check multiple #DNS providers. Google didn’t work. OpenDNS didn’t work. ISP’s didn’t work.
It’s always fucking DNS…
Oh god damn it.
#Autodesk #fusion360 DOES connect and start on my hotspot. It does not when connected to my WiFi.
It does work on the same router/network on my desktop. Same DNS setting at the router.
Autodesk: We cannot enter offline mode
Autodesk: We also cannot enter online mode.
