Been a while since I posted here, but I've been active on TikTok and Blue Sky recently. In addition to 3D models I've also been making Korean VR Chat avatars, here are my two dokkaebi!

Today I took a quick promo shot for my Yeochin and Namchin dokkaebi couple VR Chat models! Namchin needs a bit more work before I'd call his dopo done, but it was exciting to see the gat's shader allow for semi transparency!

The ML’s character is very emotionally stunted, but he’s also gone through great trauma & isolated himself for nearly a millennium. He does get some growth eventually.

The bromance is just starting with the kidnapping. It gets so much better later on.

I felt it just kept getting better as it went on. But it did have flaws.

Lived up to its high rankings on MDL & Viki. *Beautiful* cinematography, iconic scenes referenced in many other dramas, great acting, tropes, humor, the best bromance ever, great 2nd couple, coats galore, outstanding OST, past lives, supernatural beings, agony, joy, & fate.

Most complaints are about the age difference between the leads. The actors were 37 & 25, but Kim Go Eun played a high schooler so convincingly that it felt a bit uncomfortable. She ages 10 years in the show & he doesn't, so it worked for me.

How long do you atone for past sins - especially in a previous life? How long must you carry the guilt? Are some sins unforgivable? What would you sacrifice for love? The show brings up a lot of weighty questions. The writing is mesmerizing at times & very witty.

개인적으로 #도깨비 마지막 장면은 김고은이 아닌 다른 배우였어야 더 감동적이지 않았을까 싶다. 카메라 워킹도 김고은? 지은탁? 얼굴 안비추며 과거 회상을 끼워 넣는 편집까지 해 놓고는 마지막 얼굴이 그대로 지은탁이라니....

"아저씨, 저 누군지 알죠?" 할 때, 얼굴은 지은탁이 아닌데.. 김신이 알아 본다...... 너무 아름답지 않음??

그나마 명찰이라도 지은탁이 아닌 점은 다행~

@whoosh I was so confused by the age difference that I didn’t even register it as weird. Goblin was my first kdrama (after Squid Games), and my brain changed completely 😂. It was like 3 weeks later that I watched it that I started studying Korean and cooking Korean food…it is responsible for my biggest rabbit hole. I should rewatch!

@cinderdazzle612 @whoosh We are definitely going to give it the ol' college try. My partner and I are reasonably decent home cooks, I have a little background in some other Asian cooking (Thai, Indonesia, North India) and we've been dabbling with Korean flavors lately.

However, this is our first go at kimchi and it's scary in a fun way. As with any fermentation, the opportunity for terrible is certainly present but its going to be fun trying.

I neither did register it, he's already centuries older than anyone, but I get it when it was pointed out.
Anyway Goblin was really fun to watch and especially enjoyed the interactions with the grim reaper.

Twenty-Five Twenty-One also got some criticism about the age difference, because the female lead is legally minor in the beginning, but it is quite explicit about it, addresses it and nothing really questionable happens.
I would recommend watching it, it is one of my favourites.

The age difference thing is funny because in 25-21, the FL is actually 4 years older than the ML, even though she plays a much younger character & plays it well enough to be completely believable.

It is an excellent drama, but I don’t think I will ever put myself though that ending again.

@whoosh age difference aside, I really despise the ML character. He's incredibly selfish and boring. Even what you call bromance was not so great in first episodes. I stopped at the episode with the kidnapping and the car accident.

@whoosh the FL has a very difficult life, studying, working part-time and being exploited by her despicable aunt. He brings her to Canada for 2 days, not feeding her or allowing her to sleep properly. He's rude under every possible aspect. Even if he redeems himself later on, the line of basic common sense is already crossed.
