#introduction

Online since 1998-ish when modems still sang to the www. First geocities, then LJ, blogger, MT, #WordPress (thanks MT!), and finally, since 2006, #WordPressDotCom where I am a former EN forum whisperer, blogger and WordPressโ„ข beta tester (Sh! We all are).

#knitting #reading #coffee #israel and #travel are my bread and butter. #socialmedia? Not so much.

The mini-saga continues...

While I've approved the Fedi LIKEs in my site's Comments dashboard, they in fact do not appear on my blog post. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

This morning I woke up to 3 emails from @wordpressdotcom saying I had 3 LIKEs waiting for approval on my recent knitting post. I thought I'd died and gone to heaven.

Because of reasons, being able to approve LIKEs has been one of the longest standing requests of #WordPressdotcom site owners. But it wasn't exactly that.

My knitting site is #Federated and those LIKEs were people who had faved my post here on Mastodon.

So, devs, can it be done for LIKES onsite?

Lise Meitner: The Forgotten Mother of Nuclear Fission

Of the 15 elements on the periodic table that honor scientists, only one and a half are named after women.

Science is the story of discoveries but sometimes credit isnโ€™t given when it is due. How many women discoverers can you name?
