« People often ask me this question : "Is writing therapeutic for you?"

[The books] do sometimes deal with themes from my own life. They do. But I realised that [...] the therapeutic effect comes from the writing itself. The feeling of shutting out everything else. Creating this intense presence between yourself and the words. [...] The feeling of being so present gives my life tremendous meaning. »

Il y a des matins de café filtre et des matins d'espresso : le plus difficile est encore de distinguer les deux, parce que quand le choix est le bon, c'est toute la journée qui prend une meilleure teinte.

#DigitalGardens At first I felt very excited to share my notes on my digital garden, and now I'm rethinking it. I feel somewhat exposed, not knowing where to put the line between what is shareable and what should be private. It also feel like I'm still in a quest for validation more than to #LearnInPublic. Maybe I have to think in private for a while.

Other #pkm enthusiasts, any insights on the "public" dimension of sharing your notes?

Every time I go for a walk near my office I'm reminded of how parks (and ducks) are an absolute necessity in our lives.
Hey #folklore Mastodon I need help for dnd! Can you send me stories where people give their firstborn to a supernatural entity in exchange for something?

When you write hashtags that contain multiple words, make the first letter of each word a capital letter, for example #DogsOfMastodon. This will make the tag readable to blind people.

Blind people use the internet through screen reader apps, which read text out aloud. By putting a capital at the start of each word in a hashtag, you are telling the screen reader how to say the tag correctly.

In the non-techy world this is generally known as "CamelCase".

(Techy people may call it PascalCase)

It was a fruitful week : submitting my first novel, applying for grants for a second one, doing copy editing on the side, preparing my taxes... A week my young self wouldn't have dared to imagine when they were dreaming of living a writer's life.

I'm proud of the choices who drove me here.

I find that everytime I have a good #writing day the next day is a total slump : I can't even put two words together. I don't know what it says about my #creativeProcess, but it is a recurrent thing.
