Inquiry: Testing What’s Concept
Use these slowly. Let your body answer before your mind does.
Concept or actual?
Recall a recent stressful moment (argument, email, criticism).
Ask:
What are my added interpretations (why they did it, what it “means” about me)?
Notice:
How much of my suffering sits in the interpretation column, not the facts?
Word versus sensation
Bring to mind a current feeling you label often (e.g. “anxiety”, “shame”, “anger”).
Drop the word completely. Ask:
Where do I feel this in the body, exactly?
What is the texture—tight, hot, heavy, buzzing, empty?
Stay with the raw sensations for 30–60 seconds.
Does anything shift when it’s “just sensation” instead of “my problem”?

My favourite way to speak artistically is through wood. My focus recently has been #illustration - specifically my #tarot decks - but wood is my heart’s best canvas. I prefer #reclaimed wood, often rescuing pieces from being firewood. I paint & draw on pieces, but #pyrography is my favourite. All #freehand. Shown here are #chestnut and #yew I saved with permission from a log pile, and some #sycamore and #ash I got from a furniture makers offcuts.
I recorded this Mountain Meditation as part of my Insight Timer collection – it's a great practice to help you learn to weather emotional storms, develop resilience & groundedness, understanding that everything – including painful emotions & experiences – comes and goes, with time:

Yesterday evening I went to an annual Gospel Choir performance.
Last year I went mainly to see my Asperger's friend & weekly "music student" perform.
The choir has taken him under their wing , understood his needs, and welcomed him.
He had a ball - as did we all.
The performance was amazing & regardless of one's beliefs or lack of, the collective group vibe was tangible.
The choir leader asked for audience members to come up and sing. I did. She handed me her mic & I let rip. :)
