(One solution: Federation ...think about it)
Fan of Bill Hicks, Kurts Vonnegut and Cobain... and Arsenal FC. Former reader of poetry, novels, philosophy, politics and history. Dream of reading, exercising and playing the guitar... I do still teach some of the above.
Tel-Aviv, last night. I've been to almost all the protests, in Tel-Aviv or Ramat Gan nearby where I live. Now we breathe for a few we weeks. To continue the metaphor, no-one is holding their breath. To add another, we were at the edge of the cliff, peering over at the abyss. No we keep a watchful eye over Passover, which is also known as the Festival of Freedom/Liberty, followed by the Days of Remembrance and Independence. Then we'll see.

(Part 6)

Now they've got a shapperone,
They're on their first date.
Walking and talking
And they can't wait.
It won't be long till their wedding night.
'Till then they won't know
If it's wrong or if it's right.

And then it'll be too late!

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

(Part 5)

Now you're pushing that pram down the street,
Shepherding your mishpuchah
Between beggars and treats.
Gotta keep calm
As you grab one
By the arm.
Cos your daughter's caught the eye
Of the rabbi's son.

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

(Part 4)

Now you're sitting with the Rebbetsen,
Discussing the day,
Baking a challah in that crazy Hareidi way.
Kneading and pounding, smacking that dough.
Plaiting and waiting
For it to grow.

Now this'll bring your girl
A very decent match,
A right talmid chucham,
A serious catch.
Watch the bread rise
Steamy and thick.
Unlike that lucky wig
This'll do the trick.

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

(Part 3)

Your clothes they can't show any skin.
But about the cut it don't say nothin.
So slide your limbs in so tight.
You're ready to hit
The ladies' room tonight!

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

(Part 2)

Now over at the yeshiva,
Oh, they really pack 'em in.
The in-crowd say it's cool
To dig this chanting thing.
But they mustn't hear your voice,
Cos their loins would catch fire.
They've gotta get control,
Of that natural desire.

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

(Part 1)

To the tune of
*Rock The Casbah*

By order of the rabbi,
Can't show your hair.
So choose a sexy
Wig if you dare.
Now your Buba she brought out
This naughty little thing.
Just stroke its lucky locks,
See the shiduch that it brings!

Halakha allows it:
Comb your sheitel!
Comb your sheitel!

In other news: My great grandfather was a travelling salesman in the US. (having moved with his wife and from #Frankfurt to #TelAviv, in what everyone then generally called #Palestine). He called himself Edi, which is how we know him, Saba Edi. Quite a few years later, when I worked in the online casino, I called myself Edi. I didn't notice to connection till my mum pointed it out.
Yaknow what? I'm a bit sick and tired of my virtue signaling comrades, ironically themselves stuck in a colonialist mindset where the poor dark-skinned have no agency and only the actions of the "whites" count.
We should, "#FreePalestine!" Yeah, great, thanks for that. This is a conflict with two sides, neither of which is in the right place. Show the Palestinians some respect.
BTW, how long d'it take Britain to leave (most of) Ireland? And that's on a whole other island FFS.

The UK spends £2.8 billion each year on the trident nuclear deterrent (which needs US satellites function). Trident is a political choice.

A below inflation 7% pay raise for all striking public workers (terrible greedy selfish people like teachers and nurses) would cost £5bn.

This week Shell reported its highest ever profits: £32.2bn. That's fueling inflation, not paying professional public servants what they're worth.
Political choices.
