Tel-Aviv, last night. I've been to almost all the protests, in Tel-Aviv or Ramat Gan nearby where I live. Now we breathe for a few we weeks. To continue the metaphor, no-one is holding their breath. To add another, we were at the edge of the cliff, peering over at the abyss. No we keep a watchful eye over Passover, which is also known as the Festival of Freedom/Liberty, followed by the Days of Remembrance and Independence. Then we'll see.

In other news: My great grandfather was a travelling salesman in the US. (having moved with his wife and from #Frankfurt to #TelAviv, in what everyone then generally called #Palestine). He called himself Edi, which is how we know him, Saba Edi. Quite a few years later, when I worked in the online casino, I called myself Edi. I didn't notice to connection till my mum pointed it out.

Yaknow what? I'm a bit sick and tired of my virtue signaling comrades, ironically themselves stuck in a colonialist mindset where the poor dark-skinned have no agency and only the actions of the "whites" count.
We should, "#FreePalestine!" Yeah, great, thanks for that. This is a conflict with two sides, neither of which is in the right place. Show the Palestinians some respect.
BTW, how long d'it take Britain to leave (most of) Ireland? And that's on a whole other island FFS.

I understand the desire to duck the issue, but there are Gooners down here. Why not have both represented? (As with eg. Sudan and South Sudan). #COYG

Yesterday I covered for four hours in 5th Grade. Early on a pupil said something along the line of Germans = Nazis. The lesson plan changed. The question became, "Why did the Nazis rise in Germany?" It started, briefly, with Egypt, Babylon, Persia and Greece (which they've been studying). Then Rome and this... (see blackboard).
Only halfway through did a pupil point out that it was #HolocaustMemorialDay

At the spill-over protest this evening, demonstrating in defense of liberal democracy, specifically the independence of the courts. Today's official figure is 130,000 demonstrators (out of a population of 9.36 million, that makes it equivalent to over 935,000 in the UK). #Israel #Palestine #Democracy
