We need to spread this far and wide. Is there anyone who can help share it in places with large crowds or even out on the streets as posters? We need support. We need encouragement. We need people to step up and help us get donations
Every effort matters. Every voice helps Please help us keep going

Today's #MothOfTheDay is always a delight to find in the #moth box. The mahoosive...

OAK EGGAR (female)
Lasiocampa quercus

Doesn't feed on #oak - the cocoon is #acorn shaped. Larvae feed on bramble, sallows, sloes, hawthorns

She is one big ball of gorgeous floof!

Last check (as this is scheduled) we’re at an amazing 2205/2500 on our emergency displacement drive this weekend for our friends in the giving circle.

Funds are for:
- food
- replacement shelter (tents/rent)
- replacement supplies (clothes, meds)
- help for an urgent medical case
- a new tent for a fam whose tent burned down

Just 280 to go. Anything is transformative! Especially if you can click “weekly.” https://chuffed.org/project/hope-giving-circle

Keep Hope Alive: a Gaza Giving Circle

We are a team of volunteers in the US and UK, led by two sisters passionate about helping our friends on the ground keep their families and neighbors alive with food, water, & shelter. We saw that their campaigns are extremely stagnant and wanted to find a way to direct steady help to them. We distribute your contributions equally every week for sustainable support.

@llewelly @futurebird Fossil Onychophora were marine, so there is the possibility of multiple land invasions if given enough time.

But one of the questions is if Velvet worms are a flexible enough body plan to supply the variation to adapt to various niches. They've been a around since the Cambrian, but they extant species still pretty much look the same and occupy very narrow niches.

A tad expensive for mamak food, but 50% of the piece is probably the chicken 🫠

👾🎲 Do you remember these simple handheld games? They don’t have pixel-based screens — instead, all possible positions are pre-etched into a custom LCD. Some even have interchangeable modules with multiple games. This category also includes Nintendo’s Game & Watch series, the predecessor of the Game Boy.
@muzej
Those LCD games were exciting at a time when video arcade games at home were out of reach. Pocket sized, affordable, collectable. For many of us, our first taste of home gaming.
@muzej I /think/ I might still have one somewhere.
@muzej I had one of those 99 in 1 handheld consoles that ran on 2xAA batteries that were essentially just 99 variants of Tetris done with blocky dot matrix screen. Simple but nice times.
@muzej yup - a Tetris knock-off called Block Game, a Polly Pocket swimming game that wouldn't turn off once you removed the plastic tab, and a however-many-in-one poker one 😊
