We try to live in these days between sorrow and hope, to stitch joy into the seams of ordinary life. We hand a child a small bag of candies and watch their face light up. We fold a tiny shirt and imagine the pride they will wear with it.

My name is Dalya Mohisen.

The children of Gaza deserve to live to breathe freely, to laugh without fear, to grow up in safety, and to embrace a future filled with light, not shadows.
I see Gaza through the eyes of this little girl her delicate hair falling softly, the sleepy sparkle of her eyes hiding half her face, yet somehow lighting up the whole of Gaza, making it radiant. In that video, I felt joy flood into me, because her heart and the hearts of so many children here still finds room for laughter and delight
