Can't believe I only posted this in a pinned post without saying more about it here yet.
It's one of the coolest things I did with pixelart so far.
Despite looking 3D, it's actually a flat image with a normal-map layer added, which tells the game engine how to lit/shadow the sprite.
The normal map had to be hand-made, yes I know there are tools for that but they won't capture the true shape of the object, not at this scale and not an object this complex.

I requested some days off next week so I could sit on my butt and be a big lazy dork and watch AGDQ. I've always wanted to take some time off to watch GDQ, and I figured why not now?
I put in the request in mid-December, but was told they couldn't approve the time off yet because I was asking for 2023 dates and it wasn't 2023. Heaven forbid I give them advance notice, but okay.
So yesterday (Monday was a company holiday, Jan 3 was our first business day of 2023) I reminded my boss about the days I requested, but she couldn't access the request! She said *her* supervisor could probably finish the request, but wouldn't ya know it, she was out today. Better ask tomorrow!
So TODAY I get a message from my boss' boss. I need to submit the request in the form of an email, rather than the system we already use. I sent the email this morning. No response. I can't wait to see what the next hurdle is.
Y'all. I just wanna be a lil blob all snuggled up on the couch watching people play the video games. C'mon.
