Teaching was my first love. Packets were my second.

I make classes to teach people how to defend themselves against hackers. In my spare time, I teach college students to compete in cybersecurity competitions, or try to take back my home automation from the cloud.

Google Gemini flaw hijacks email summaries for phishing

Google Gemini for Workspace can be exploited to generate email summaries that appear legitimate but include malicious instructions or warnings that direct users to phishing sites without using attachments or direct links.

I love The Korean Vegan (Joanne Molinaro) for a lot of reasons related to her food blogging, but she's also a bad ass lawyer.

This YouTube Short is the first I've seen that explains really clearly what the warrant paperwork should look like if you're being asked to open your door (and don't just open the door - she explains).

"But it’s alarming how easy it is for smart device makers to decide that your property won’t work. There’s no easy solution to this problem. "

Uhhh ... yes there is. Use standard protocols or open the APIs. Every device that requires vendor-managed cloud control should be considered as having a limited lifetime, which could blow at any moment.

(I put my Dreo fans and Roborock vacuum in this category. i priced that into my initial purchase decision.)

Belkin shows tech firms getting too comfortable with bricking customers’ stuff

There’s no easy alternative, and IoT customers are paying the price.

I took two pictures of Summer on our walk that might be my new favorites.
I am glad she isn't bothered by my phone in her face. She is a good sport.
I especially love the photo with all paws in the air. Summer is a high flying dog.

Here it is!

@mrundkvist I'm getting a little tired of reading about all the studies that show UBI works well and pays for itself. I wish we'd stop studying and start implementing.

@NorcalGma2 You are lucky. My dogs immediately stop doing whatever cute thing whenever I point my phone at them.

@NorcalGma2

In the first picture, she looks as though she is levitating! Both are very good photos.

@FiddleSix
Thank you. My phone liked the early morning light. We left home earlier than usual.
@NorcalGma2
Always love leaping Summer. 💚
@amyedge
She my first dog so I don't have much to compare but she launches herself in the air at every opportunity. I don't know if that is a common lab trait or not.
@NorcalGma2
I have a lab/hound/? mix. He is not a jumper. I just love the pictures of her jumping. 💚
@NorcalGma2 @amyedge Labs are rambunctious.
@NorcalGma2 @amyedge When I was a teen my family had a lab. He was not a jumper. He could swim if his life depended on it but he preferred wading in water so he could have the security of four paws on land at all times 😄
@stephaniepixie @amyedge
I am constantly amazed that Summer will dive into the water from as high as ten feet and fly through the air with no concern for landing. She loves to swim too. She can clear many of our fences but won't jump them without permission.
@NorcalGma2 So brave and athletic. Good thing she’s a good listener
@stephaniepixie
She must have been born with good manners because I know nothing about training dogs. We got her at eight weeks old. I have lots of parenting skills and it really isn't that different.
@NorcalGma2 Our lab was really smart too but very anxious. No way he would’ve been leaping from any height. He might’ve been mixed (we got him from the local Humane Society and they just said he was a lab) because he was taller than most labs. Big barrel chest and skinny legs.
Not much of a runner. He was heavier than me as a teen and he desperately wanted to be a lap dog 😄

@NorcalGma2

Has Summer been watching Dock Diving competitions? 😁

@stephaniepixie @amyedge

@deirdrebeth @stephaniepixie @amyedge
I think she could do that if she wanted to.
@NorcalGma2 @amyedge This is your first dog? What a gem! Fetching and swimming is standard lab, the high jump not so much.
@redrummy @amyedge
She is our very first attempt at giving a dog a good home. I thing it is working out well for all of us.
