Still trying to undestand this #Fediverse. #ByeByeBirdsite.

Occasional toots, boosts and philosophical musings about #economics and #politics.

Boosts are not an endorsement.

Mastodon includes an optional feature which lets you automatically delete your posts after a certain amount of time. There's a guide to using this feature including lots of questions answered at:

It's off by default, it only deletes stuff if you switch it on. You can also set it to keep certain posts, more info in the guide.

I've tried to answer questions about this feature in the guide, but let me know if I've missed anything.

There's now a Fediverse alternative to TikTok called Loops. It's currently in beta testing so it is rough round the edges, but you can sign up and try it for yourself. More info at:

You can follow its official account at:

➡️ @loops

There's an iPhone app just released at:

Loops now federates with the Fediverse, there are several Loops servers and Loops accounts can be followed from Mastodon etc (e.g. @dansup).

Loops - Short videos. Your community. Your rules.

All the fun of short-form video, none of the corporate control. Loops is federated, open-source, and designed to give power back to creators and communities.

God help us. Are they sharing our email addresses with the alt-right White House press corp? Got an unsolicited, not opted-in for, out-of-the-blue introductory newsletter from The Epoch Times that went to a dedicated, unpublished email account I use ONLY to conduct personal government business, like SSA, IRS, login.gov, etc.

The email said when I click an article link I will be consenting and an account would be created based on my email.

The article in the email weren't alt-right or conspiracy ones. They were bait. #USPol #Spam #Disinfo

Anyone else yet?

I have trouble keeping track of these, so I was happy seeing this article: What does a blue USB port mean? I learned the truth behind all the colors, and it's wild https://www.zdnet.com/article/what-does-your-usb-port-color-mean/

I want to point something out; something I think got lost in all the gov't shutdown coverage:
An anonymous, billionaire, offered to donate $130 mil to pay the military salaries during the shutdown.
Anyone remember the media coverage of the billionaire(s) offering to donate money for SNAP or Veteran's benefits?
Yeah, me neither...
BECAUSE IT DIDN'T FUCKING HAPPEN!
No billionaire made that offer.
Probably best to remember that.
