Tell someone you're an artist, and they'll advise you to get a "real job." Tell them you're building a tech platform to extract value from artists, and they'll ask for your pitch deck.

An NSA tech I knew told me my mailing list was being monitored after 9/11, and suggested I tone it down.

Today? I'm certain I, you, and everyone who's ever posted on social media, have a score in a database maintained by the Nazis -- and they'll work their way down the list as quickly as they can.

It won't be *that* fast. Too many powerful families split across the liberal/conservative divide. Too many armed people who'll take action if they and theirs are threatened.

But it's coming.

Happy Ides of March! The Roman Senate had a very different approach from the US Senate.
AI made this image for me. And I think it's a pretty good representation of what's going on. (I wanted Trump screaming, but apparently that was too political or violent for Leonardo)

Also going after services for the homeless, minority businesses, and community development.

The cruelty is the point.

Not sure I've ever seen a more obvious picture to remind us that police exist to protect the property of the ruling class, not the rights of the people.
What Hegel failed to grasp is that the world ideological spirit of the age would eventually be controlled by a YouTube algorithm designed to sell ads.
Turns out Pink Floyd was wrong. We do need education.

Thomas Piketty makes another interesting point in his book 'A Brief History of Equality'. A more telling comparison of productivity should not just be GDP per capita, but GDP per worker-hour. One interesting revelation that follows from this is that France, with its very high levels of state, employee and community ownership, and militant trade unions, compared with the US, has about the same or indeed sometimes higher productivity than the US.

Worth mentioning to those apologists for capitalism that oppose trade unions and bang in about the efficiency of the private sector.
