It's unhealthy and unsafe to put every aspect of yourself online all in one place, anyway. Mastodon turned out to be better suited for specific interests such as motorcycles. Then, I started following a lot of current events, which became incredibly stressful. It was also probably not great for the people on this bikers server. I'm sorry about that and I'm actually glad that my posts won't follow me to my next server, where I'm really going to focus on my riding adventures. See you there! 2/2

Hey everyone, the server I'm on, bikers.social, is shutting down so I'm moving to a new server. I'm also going to refocus somewhat. When I first joined Mastodon in October 2023, I expected it to be a book of faces replacement, where I would put my whole life on it like it was my social resume. I quickly realized it made no sense to do that because not one single person I know in person is on Mastodon and I've never been able to convince any of them to join. 1/2

Stop it. Stop trying to visit America. I am an American living in one of the most virulent MAGA states, and I am begging you to cancel any and all plans to visit the US. There is nothing, and I mean absolutely NOTHING in this country worth your safety or your life. This is not the America you remember. When asked if I ever get scared riding my motorbike I usually respond with the same speech about how I ride defensively and within my own limits. Truth is I'm absolutely terrified of a wasp getting in my helmet. It's my biggest fear. I never have my visor up even in heatwaves.

#Dumbass crashed his plane on purpose to make a YouTube video, then lied to the FAA about it and says he didn't know how the crash happened or where the plane was (he retrieved the wreckage himself and tried to secretly dispose of it). In other #motorcycle news, I got the red bike out of storage ('storage' being my neighbor's much larger, much tidier garage) in preparation for our move to the Big City. Battery seems to be holding a charge, tires seem to be holding air.

Trust BMW to make the OEM tank bag the perfect size for my shop manager.
