@max hahaha, I sent it to several people after seeing it yesterday, so you're not wrong
@jonkeeganstories I would probably buy a puzzle version of this.

Cool job posting at ProPublica

We are seeking a computational journalist to join our data team to use their technical knowledge, as well as emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and large language models, to help us investigate the world and unlock stories that would otherwise be out of reach.

Journalism experience is a plus, but we especially encourage applications from people with quantitative/research backgrounds, such as statistics, data science, AI and machine learning. Ability to code well is a must.

Ultimately, we’re looking for someone who would pitch us on ideas that use technology to do things we hadn’t dreamed of doing. That could be renting a boat to test the WiFi networks at Mar-a-Lago, having students scream into black-box hardware or using the power of programming to fingerprint and cluster propaganda videos.

Now in beta on Android & Desktop, coming soon to iOS:

Save custom nicknames & notes for anyone you’re chatting with on Signal, even if they aren’t in your phone’s contacts. Useful for adding missing letters in a lazy friend’s profile name or a reminder about where you met.

We are hiring a digital security training intern! Unfortunately you'd have to work with me a lot. Sorry. But it's otherwise tons of fun. You'd learn from and work with journalists. You'd also contribute back to the broader community by writing about journalistic digital security practices. Apply here. https://freedom.press/jobs/?gh_jid=4400365005

Imagine spending three years of your life on a complicated, stressful project and then some guy gets mad that you accidentally added a small performance issue and destroys all your hard work.
Once again, On Food and Cooking has been experimentally validated. And now I need to figure out what to do with a half gallon of yogurt with the consistency of kefir.
New cookbook day!

Super happy with my Framework laptop by the way!

The module system is great. I printed a snack drawer today! Now I can always take three peanuts with me!

For pop culture/tech systems puns I don't think I'll ever top " if you liked it then you should've put monitoring on it".

@blinry me, using only 1 brain cell: well actually, that's six peanuts

my other brain cell, waking up: YOU MORON HOW CAN YOU FORGET HOW PEANUTS WORK

@hakirsch Good morning, dear brain cell! :>
@hakirsch @blinry or like, 1.5 peanuts, depending on how you count?

@hakirsch @blinry

damnit, NIST have reference peanut butter but no reference peanut. So there is no way to know how to count.

@OliverUv @hakirsch @blinry Indeed, it could be one very exceptional peanut
@simonbp @OliverUv @hakirsch @blinry For real I've seen triple-pod peanuts before.
@OliverUv
@hakirsch @blinry as someone allergic to peanuts and thus never interacted with them, this was genuinely helpful lol
@hakirsch @blinry wait isnt that 1 and a half peanuts
@blinry LMAO that's so creative!
@blinry So, this laptop could fit 12 peanuts in total, wow!
@stffffn Oh right! However, @piko just warned me that I wouldn't be able to charge it anymore! :D
@blinry Well, that all depends on your priorities :D
@blinry @stffffn @piko But you have 133 Wh of energy stored in those peanuts, more than twice the (rechargeable) energy of the lithium battery in the laptop ☝️
@quanten @blinry @stffffn @piko ok now I think I want a peanut powered laptop. 🤣
@stffffn @blinry isn't that actually 18 peanuts? You have 6 bays in the '16, not four

@stffffn @blinry

*slaps lid of laptop*

That bad boi can fit so much peanut in it!

@blinry same energy as using the CD-ROM as a drink tray
@blinry That is how to hide your illegal keep-me-awake pills on business trips.
@c0c0bird @blinry That's a much better use case for that, though it would be better if the tray was the same color as the body or the off the shelf blank ones so it's less noticeable.
@blinry I suppose chocolate ones aren't a great idea.
@blinry [the local crow population likes this]
@blinry @lmorchard Just thinking you could store quite a few MicroSD cards in that amount of space
@blinry Epic. I will keep Necco wafers in mine.
@blinry this is the peak of technology
@blinry AHHHHH?!
@Ritzga Haha, I'm delighted that you made this! :D
@blinry Sorry, that was the first thing I thought of XD

@blinry and because its so small, I suppose printing it only costed you peanuts...

*badummzzzzz*

@musicmatze @blinry so oder so geht es hier doch nur um peanuts!
@blinry mm yummy microplastics 😋
@blinry one day those 3 peanuts will save your life
@grumpasaurus ... Or take someone else's.
@blinry why did I think that those were the smallest bread rolls in the world
@schratze @blinry me too, that's what Germany does to you
@charlag @schratze @blinry I thought at first must be a giant laptop to fit six bread rolls.
@blinry that's just nuts.
@posiputt @blinry no, that's just legumes… 🙃
@daniel_bohrer actually, that's just Hülsenfrüchte!
@blinry i expected them to be tiny bread buns, when i looked at the image. Or a huge laptop.
@blinry
You should put a "Can contain traces of peanuts" sticker on it.
@blinry
Or maybe: "Contains trays of peanuts"
@frere_jacques @blinry
Maybe "Nuts inside" with peanut-shaped circle around?
@blinry wasn't Obama's lunch like 8 almonds or something? That's close to being a full meal!

@blinry Apparently not taking the context that an HDMI port is not itself the size of a PCMCIA card, my sense of scale had me hoping those were gyoza (or mandu). 🥟

Oh well, such steamy, one-side-fried umami perfection probably wouldn’t be good for the insides of your rig.

So, does this module help you stream Charles Schulz comics?

@juanejot @blinry
"Oh, dey ain't gyoza, dim sum peanuts"
@blinry For those kernel panics. . .
@blinry I have a 3d printable model for some feet for the backside of the laptop to improve the experience of having your laptop on your lap https://www.printables.com/model/785886-footing-for-the-framework-16-laptop-with-expansion
