Always feels weird when you are wrapping up a project. This time it's StarGrid for PalmOS. What started as a game that I thought I would definitely finish in a month ended up taking more than half a year.
Allot of 'manual' labor went into this game, no premade game engine, no additional sdk's. Just making it from scratch, trying to solve one technical puzzle after another, but learning so many neat things along the way.
So yes, it's actually ready, release will be somewhere in the next days.
While I won't immediately jump into the next big sideproject, I think I need a breather, I do have some ideas lined up that I've been wanting to explore for a while now: making a racing game, building a ray-tracing game (like wolf3d). Much more exciting stuff to come.
For now I hope at least some people will enjoy playing StarGrid and even if it's not their cup of tea, the game is fully open source, so I hope that can contribute to others making games and applications for this not-so-forgotten platform called Palm OS.
Enough said, keep your eyes peeled for the official StarGrid release announcement in a few days!

Final nice-to-have added before release of StarGrid for PalmOS: PowerUps!
When a ship is destroyed, it can leave a health or torpedo pack. Alternatively, the bases can also create one of these on demand.
Next up is playtesting and then I think it's ready to unleash it onto the massive hordes of Palm OS gamers out there!

Liquid Glass is cracked, and usability suffers in iOS 26
With iOS 26, Apple seems to be leaning harder into visual design and decorative UI effects — but at what cost to usability? At first glance, the system looks fluid and modern. But try to use it, and soon those shimmering surfaces and animated controls start to get in the way. Let’s strip back the frost and look at how these ch
