Hi #fediverse. We need to talk about something.
While talking to a colleague about how I recently learned most people have never sat on a cow it came up that she has never sat on a horse. Like, not even once during childhood.
Another colleague admitted they also have never sat on a horse.
My hypothesis is that most people have at one point in their life sat on a horse.

Have you sat on a horse?

Was going to post something smart and detailed about yet another Green Party electoral victory in the UK, but lost the draft… anyway they win again in a council by-election taking votes from Labour and the LD. Reform fail again.
What is easy to miss is that the Green Party actually represents two of the central desires of the UK electorate: wanting a greener and more equitable economy. They aren’t just winning because Labour are lost and Polanski is charismatic they are ascendant *because green socialism is popular*.
And also let’s not forget that the majority of UK voters are still ALSO positive on drug reform (although that’s complicated), LGBTQ+ rights (including education) and immigration (depends how you ask the question). So Polanski on that stage in London celebrating trans rights is both authentic AND electable, although it presents an attack surface for the right-wing press. But negative views on those issues are so stratified by age that they lose most younger voters immediately. And by younger I mean pre-65.

There was another exciting aspect to our hike today.
For years I believed that the Tiny Balancing Sheep breed was just a myth, as I've done so many walks and hikes through the British countryside and never seen one.
But reader, I was mistaken. And I have proof.
