There was another exciting aspect to our hike today.

For years I believed that the Tiny Balancing Sheep breed was just a myth, as I've done so many walks and hikes through the British countryside and never seen one.

But reader, I was mistaken. And I have proof.

@losttourist That is an EXQUISITE #TinyBalancingSheep πŸ™‚

@losttourist Nope, sorry, this is a ewe tree.

They are often confused.

@Extelec @losttourist

you two win the internet today πŸ†

@nellie_m @Extelec @losttourist Seconded. The perfect reply to the perfect #TinyBalancingSheep

@losttourist

He's that sheep there over under the elm. He's that most dangerous of animals, a clever sheep. He's the ring-leader. He has realized that a sheep's life consists of standing around for a few months and then being eaten. And that's a depressing prospect for an ambitious sheep. He's patently hit on the idea of escape.

City Gent Well why don't you just get rid of Harold?

Rustic Because of the enormous commercial possibilities should he succeed.

@golfbravo @losttourist I can hear this in their voices. Brilliant!

@arisummerland @losttourist

I think you should change your moniker to "Two Sheds"

@losttourist
OK.. Let me explain... 😜

@luny @losttourist Thank you for mentioning this better than I could.

Even after all these years, it is an important learn for many people

@losttourist
How does he get off the post?

@Sarahw @losttourist

Tight rope walking along the wire?

@suearcher @losttourist
I'm hoping Tucker can find a photo of a whole group tiptoeing in line across the wire!

@losttourist

If I remember that sheep is called Harold πŸ˜‡πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

@losttourist I just can't figure out how they get up there.

@losttourist

*slow appreciative clap* Well done sir, well done! Another mythical beast for the record books, indeed. πŸ₯³

@losttourist

I zoomed in and that looks more like a Tiny Balancing Levitating Sheep to me ;-)

@stepheneb @losttourist
Yes, β€œsmall” and β€œfloating” are correct, and it is not an optical illusion. Due to the significantly more favorable ratio of surface area to weight, it is very easy for a Tiny Balancing Sheep to float from time to time when it thinks it would be necessary.
@losttourist Oh that is a SUPERB Tiny Balancing Sheep.

@losttourist The UK: land of tiny sheep. πŸ˜€

Nicely done.

@losttourist "Oh, that there's 'Arold! "Ee's that most dangerous of animals, clever sheep."

@losttourist "That's clearly been photosh- oh, well done".

Got me.

@losttourist
Usually I get kind of cranky if I don't get enough sheep

But this is quite nice

@losttourist The perfect photo, the perfect sheep, the perfect toot.

@losttourist I smell forced perspective: there's no way the sky fits so perfectly on top of the hills otherwise.

Also, cute #TinyBalancingSheep!

@losttourist I’m sorry to appear to be complaining, but that is a very misleading post…
@losttourist so good, thank you πŸ™
@losttourist but have you ever seen a five baa gate?
@losttourist Ha ha, cute, nice forced perspective!
