Just snagged this beauty — a Tandy Chess Game (Model 60-2160) from 1980 — for a few quid.
Why do I keep collecting these old-school electronic chess sets? No idea. Maybe it's the look.
Next move: find out if it'll destroy me with its cold 1980s logic.
Last year, I rediscovered in the attic my incomplete 1990/91 MLB #Topps collection, which I started after a brief visit to the U.S.
Now, some 34 years later, I've finally completed the 1990 set and #Pirates set for good measure.
Next up - finishing 1991 and starting others!?😅 #slipperyslope
The mystery computer from yesterday was… **drumroll** 🥁
A Micro-Professor II (1982/83)!
“A what?” 🤔
A Micro-Professor II, or MPF-II—made by Multitech, the company that eventually became Acer.
“... Oh?”
Yeah, I’d never heard of it either! There's not much online about it. So it will be interesting to learn about. A few games came with it too, which should be interesting if I can get it going!
I picked up a rare (for the UK), early 80's microcomputer today.
Hats off to anyone who can guess what it is by the picture. There should be enough clues 😉.
I have no idea if it works. I need to do some research before powering the thing up!
Just worked on some vintage PCs I picked up last December and found an interesting disc drive in one of them that I mistook for a regular CD/DVD player. It turned out to be a Phase-change Dual (PD) drive! Never heard of it before but it's fascinating.

Not sure if the drive works yet. I need to sort out a new hard drive, windows installation, etc.
But when I do... it's going to be fun finding out!
