So green. So lush. So much weeding to do. Finally got out to #Area51 to get the tomato’s peppers and onions in. Planted some beans. Still need to get the squashes going.

I finally got around to planting carrots in a pot. Nantes Half Long. The bottom soil is pretty dry so it's soaking in a tub overnight. I picked up the potted marigolds that were spread about the garden, I have 10 feet of them, or 22 plus 1 tomato volunteer and 1 clump of oregano. The two squash beds are ready for planting with most of the lumpy goose manure having soaked up the water and softened.

They always grow really good when you're not ready to plant them out. This is all the squash, cucumbers, and melons. Everything good except one watermelon pot and I put more seed in it tonight in case the half sprouted thing doesn't grow a true leaf. They were all planted about 2 weeks ago.

My bell peppers are starting to develop this weird yellowing on the leaves. I'm going to call my Extension Master Gardener tomorrow and see what's going on. They should go into the ground next week.

Now that the1st planting of corn is done & the 2nd planting is in pots to sprout, I had time to look at what else is going on. The Peonies by the front door (Sarah Bernhardt) are ready to burst forth just in time for the overnight rain (again) to knock them down (I hope the supports I put in a while ago help prevent that). In the greenhouse we have the zukes almost ready to set out, the Sunburst squash & cukes not far behind & the butternut squash being tardy

"Susan Campbell (opinion): Is Connecticut ready for Universal Basic Income?"

"Connecticut needs this. The current presidential administration wants to make deep cuts to Medicaid, cut SNAP as it’s never been cut before, and grant rich people unneeded tax cuts. While the world burns around us, maybe we can provide for residents a modicum of stability. This is the time, and Connecticut is the place."

I’m feeling very grateful for the amount of steady rain we’ve had over the last few days. The water butts have already filled a fair amount and the soil and wildlife are happy for it. I seem to have mostly escaped the threat of slugs and snails too #allotment #gardening

This is how it all looks as of this morning.

Radishes aren't showing their shoulders yet. I'm making myself be patient.

My parsley and sage refused to germinate, so I bought both curly and flat-leaf and the sage, plus a Japanese eggplant (the purple and green beauty in the front left corner, in front of parsley and next to sage). I love eggplant, spouse doesn't, so I got the smaller kind.

The Yukon potatoes I had given up on? Yeah. They're exploding.

My determinate tomatoes look good, but I'm not seeing many blossoms . . . I keep the sides up on that bed to allow pollinators access to tomatoes and bell peppers. I also narrowed the width of the plastic wrap protecting the tomatoes.

Spouse chose a cherry tomato bush and a strawberry plant. Both have fruit on them already. Not a lot, but hey. We'll take it.

When you use half-ready compost in your raised beds, and the Swiss chard bed becomes a pumpkin bed… 😅
Trying to decide which seedlings are getting moved lol.

Les courges sont un peu à l'étroit dans le parc à bébé recyclé.
Les premières fleurs arrivent. Premier mini concombre.
Le tout est que les fruits parviennent à maturité ce qui n'est pas gagné.
