Health meets IT ~ Assistant Professor @ Maastricht University
@riannefijten Speaking as a healthcare worker, if the preprint, upon having receiving my own review, was felt to be robust enough for inclusion, then I would include it, providing I have or could engage with others with the expertise to critique it effectively. #MedMastodon
@riannefijten As for the why: any systematic review seeks to collect the current state of the art on any given subject matter. Knowledge contained in pre-prints is knowledge still, but lacking certification. As long as you differentiate - sure.
Question for my fellow #academics. Would you include preprints in a systematic review? Why or why not? #science #scicomm #research #sysreview #academicwriting

#Countdown to the NWO #veni verdict next week. Only 37% chance to move to the next round where we can submit a full proposal. It's one of the most important grants for early career researchers #ECR in NL.

Fingers crossed

My turn for #introductions. I'm an assistant professor at #MaastrichtU in the Clinical #datascience #research group. I focus on implementation of #ArtificialIntelligence #AI in #healthcare to facilitate #SharedDecisionMaking. In addition, I am a strong advocate of #openscience through my founding and chairing of the Open Science Community Maastricht.
To my knowledge, the second study now showing this:
