Important: U.S. eligible voters, check your registration. Some states have early deadlines for registering to vote. Other states are aggressively purging their voter rolls, so even if you think you are registered, do check to make sure. More information available at https://wapo.st/3Zon0Ox.
Are you still registered to vote? How to make sure you’re up to date.

Even if you voted in a previous election, you’re not necessarily registered for this one. Here’s how to check before your state’s deadline.

Shocking, right? It gets worse.

"only about $40 million of the $170 million in new taxes would stay in the district. The rest would go to the state"

In Republican Texas, the cities don't control of their schools & the money they pay to run their schools is taken by the state into the general budget.

Japan pledges $4.5B more in aid for Ukraine, including $1B in humanitarian funds

Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida has pledged $4.5 billion to Ukraine, including $1 billion in humanitarian aid to help support the war-torn country’s recovery efforts. Kishida made the announcement late Wednesday in Tokyo while hosting his last Group of Seven summit as this year’s chairperson. The $1 billion humanitarian and recovery aid includes funding for generators and other power supplies for the Ukrainian people to survive the winter, as well as measures to clear mines planted by Russia, the Foreign Ministry said. The remaining $3.5 billion includes funding for credit guarantees for World Bank loans to Ukraine.
