Twitter refugee. Art, politics, philosophy
My MIL died this morning. We are very sad, but taking comfort in the fact that her art will always be in our homes. #Grief

I created a pastel piece from the photo that I posted the other day of the first azalea blossoms to open in my garden. I think it does capture a feeling of the fleeting beauty of the spring season. I finished in time for #FlowersOnFriday.

See it in my online gallery at https://mm-anderson.pixels.com/featured/a-pair-of-pink-azalea-flowers-mm-anderson.html and soon in the other sites in my profile.

"The Courage to Be Free" to let Papa Ron dictate all the details of your life - a political book that
"reads like a politician’s memoir churned out by ChatGPT."

I say don't cancel this book - let DeSantis' awfulness marinate in the public square.

Ron DeSantis ‘The Courage to Be Free’: Book Review

In his new book, “The Courage to Be Free,” the Florida governor and potential Republican presidential candidate offers a template for governing based on an expansive vision of executive power.

This reminds me of a neuroscience paper I read (skimmed) about how our brains 'decide' ie probabilities of what we will think locks in, a second (I think it was actually in ms) *before* we consciously think it.

Our thoughts, or at least our internal verbalizations, are delayed from the actual decision making process.

I believe they theorized that internal dialogues are our attempt to explain or justify to ourselves our probabilistically predetermined thoughts.

@chrishenjum I left #Twitter over two months ago and went cold turkey. I’ve been back twice in the past few weeks and have witnessed the cesspool it’s become. I have no regrets of leaving, and am excited to build something here that makes a difference. Already I get far more engagement here than I ever did there.
