Momenti di tensione nel pomeriggio a Trapani, dove un mezzo per la pulizia stradale è stato improvvisamente inghiottito da una voragine apertasi lungo il viale delle Sirene, uno dei tratti più frequentati del lungomare cittadino.
Il cedimento improvviso dell’asfalto
Secondo le prime ricostruzioni, il cedimento si sarebbe verificato in pochi istanti, senza segnali premonitori. Il mezzo, impegnato nelle normali operazioni di pulizia, è stato parzialmente risucchiato dalla cavità apertasi sotto le ruote, sorprendendo l’operatore alla guida.
Fortunatamente, non si registrano feriti. Tuttavia, la scena del veicolo sprofondato ha attirato l’attenzione di residenti e passanti, generando preoccupazione in una zona molto frequentata, soprattutto in questo periodo dell’anno.
Area centrale e molto trafficata
Il viale delle Sirene rappresenta uno dei punti più simbolici del lungomare trapanese, affacciato sul mare e quotidianamente attraversato da cittadini e turisti. Proprio per questo, l’episodio ha sollevato interrogativi sulle condizioni della rete stradale e sulla sicurezza urbana.
Non si è fatta attendere la reazione politica. Il consigliere comunale di opposizione Maurizio Miceli ha parlato di “vergogna pubblica”, attaccando duramente l’amministrazione.
“Questa non è una semplice buca – ha dichiarato – ma il simbolo del fallimento totale di chi governa. Non crolla solo la strada, ma anche la sicurezza dei cittadini e la credibilità delle istituzioni. Poteva esserci chiunque, un passante o un bambino. Oggi è andata bene, ma domani?”.
Miceli ha quindi chiesto le dimissioni del sindaco Giacomo Tranchida, accusando l’amministrazione di inefficienza: “Basta scuse e propaganda. Questa amministrazione ha fallito sotto gli occhi di tutti” Sul posto sono attesi gli interventi tecnici per mettere in sicurezza l’area e verificare le cause del cedimento. Non si esclude che possano emergere criticità strutturali o problemi legati alla rete sottostante.
L’episodio riaccende il dibattito sulla manutenzione delle infrastrutture urbane e sulla prevenzione di situazioni potenzialmente pericolose.

The Sudden Collapse
According to initial reconstructions, the collapse occurred in a matter of seconds, without any warning signs. The vehicle, engaged in normal cleaning operations, was partially sucked into the cavity that opened under the wheels, surprising the driver.

Fortunately, there were no injuries. However, the scene of the submerged vehicle attracted the attention of residents and passersby, generating concern in a very busy area, especially during this time of year.

Central and Very Trafficked Area
The Siren’s Promenade represents one of the most symbolic points of the Trapani waterfront, overlooking the sea and daily crossed by citizens and tourists. Precisely for this reason, the incident raised questions about the condition of the road network and urban safety.

The political reaction did not wait. Opposition city councilor Maurizio Miceli spoke of “public shame,” harshly attacking the administration.

“This is not just a pothole – he declared – but the symbol of the total failure of those who govern. Not only the road collapses, but also the safety of citizens and the credibility of institutions. Anyone could have been there, a passerby or a child. Today it went well, but tomorrow?”

Miceli then demanded the resignation of Mayor Giacomo Tranchida, accusing the administration of inefficiency: “Enough excuses and propaganda. This administration has failed before our eyes.” Technical interventions are expected on site to secure the area and verify the causes of the collapse. It is not ruled out that structural deficiencies or problems related to the underlying network could emerge.

The episode reignites the debate on the maintenance of urban infrastructure and the prevention of potentially dangerous situations.
