Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Adams
Timing is everything with photography. And that timing often relates to light.
In this case, I have flown and photographed this scene probably a hundred times over the last decade, but I never saw the Toutle River lit up like a silver path to St. Helens.

There is so much to visit in Yosemite and yes, one day, I'll go backcountry camping as I used to in Washington. But until then, I am more than delighted that the valley provides a glorious show each season.

LA is an adopted city for me and I've been finding a great way to explore is early morning when the sun is coming up and before the streets are crowded.

High up (15,000'/4500m) in the Himalayas there is a string of five sacred lakes. The village of Gokyo sits along the shore of the third one and is often simply referred to as Gokyo Lake.
Across its shores stand a range of peaks soaring to over 20,000'/6,100m and before the wind picks up, the reflections are addicting.

I love the perspective drones can add to ‘traditional’ ground-based photography. This angle from the East would be hard to realize otherwise.

If you ever make your way to Nepal and want the best view, weather-willing, of the tallest mountain on Earth, take a flight from Nepal to Bhutan. The flight parallels the Himalayas for most of its extent before ducking into the peaks for a landing in Bhutan (or the reverse).
