As of Saturday, May 2, 2026 the East Rim Trail System is open. For more information, visit the website linked below. In good conditions the mountain bike trails are open 6 am-11 pm for bikers and as posted for other trail users. In wet or hazardous conditions, the trail will close to all users to prevent damage. Big Oak Flat Road Fire Safety Work
To help restore more resilient forest conditions and safely reintroduce fire, Yosemite is conducting mechanical vegetation reduction work along Big Oak Flat Road between Foresta and Crane Flat. Crews are removing dead and fallen wood and reducing smaller trees near the road. This work reduces wildfire risk to visitors, infrastructure, and firefighters, (1/2)
