I like games with stuff in, even a few that don't! I'm also rather fond of tea...

I'm an 80s Kid, I love #retrocomputing, #gaming (Especially #SHMUP and #Musou titles), #music, #fantasy and #sciencefiction in all mediums.

I'm an occasional hobbyist #gamedev and writer who aspires to make games... one day!

Lazy and an optimistic pessimist. Humour influenced by Douglas Adams/Terry Pratchett, potentially sarcastic.

"Piracy can't be stealing if paying for it isn't owning"

This is increasingly how it feels, when things you "own" digitally become inaccessible, and when shows which are locked in streaming services can get delisted on a whim, disappearing forever.

Thank you @Illuminatus for this quote.

[Edit: In case this wasn't clear, this is about entertainment and digital ownership, not physical goods]

Took way too long to complete, but after the better part of a year and my computer dying, finally completed Byleth and SHEZ!'s outfit swap!

So #AmongUsVR, a game that I directed, is nominated for #TheGameAwards best VR game tonight. I wanted to get this out before we win or lose.

The show is an ad. The voting is a publicity stunt - an attempt to give the award some appearance of legitimacy.

In reality the public voting is 10% of the total score with 90% left to be given by some panel of insiders. Winning or even being nominated doesn't say that much about the quality of the game.

BUT

The game IS actually really good. AND lots of people that I worked closely with over the last year+ poured tons of effort into making this game great and they'd really like to win this award. They're really good and talented people doing really good work and they deserve all the recognition and good feels in the world.

SO

If your watching, cross your fingers for my friends who helped me make this game.

BUT

If your sad it's not your game on the stage, please don't be. If you make stuff that makes anyone happy, even you, you deserve it just as much.

GEOS has been ported to the Atari 8-bit - Vintage is The New Old

It's never too late to do cool stuff in the retro computing world. This time around, the Atari 8-bit computers get a new port of the GEOS, a graphic interface environment created for the Commodore (64, 128, and Plus/4) and Apple II by Berkeley Softworks. GEOS was interesting at the time because it delivered a powerful environment while having extremely low

And it was a good time to discover it as well - this bonus level "Fortress" had a lot of enemies. Everywhere. Placed in a way to panic and kill you. #StereoBoy continues

My 'A' level Computer Studies school book from 1982/3. We were taught 6502 machine code and how to hand-assemble our own code - for a Commodore PET. Mr Davidson was a great teacher. Fun times!

I have a lot of fondness for the Stephen Curtis #Nonterraqueous Trilogy in the mid-80s on the Amstrad CPC (and other popular UK micros).

I don't recall ever really getting anywhere in any of them but I had a good time trying to map them out on graph paper.
