Yet suddenly we are full steam ahead building #datacenters the size of Manhattan to make banana pics. #AI #slop. And the electric demand will be colossal and constant.

Society and the world needs to stop being fooled and corralled by interests that don’t care about you.

Jahrelang mussten wir uns anhören, dass es keine Regeln außer den Emissionshandel im Klimaschutz braucht, weil wenn der Emissionshandel erstmal da ist, regelt das der Markt.

Nun ist der Emissionshandel in seiner Wirkung im Markt angenommen, funktioniert und wer hätte das gedacht? Er soll weg.

I am seriously impressed by #Forgejo's (the software powering #Codeberg and other GitHub alternatives) migration tool.

Git history, issues, PRs, wiki data; all migrated perfectly from GitHub.

You can link your GitHub account afterwards, and all migrated things move over to your user - so you can edit things like comments you originally wrote on GitHub. It's like the migration never happened.

It even migrates tiny details like comment reactions.

And because the account linking is lazy, users that haven't yet joined Codeberg aren't losing out: the moment they join and connect their account, they suddenly own everything they did on the old repository.

This is wizard shit. I'm a bit blown away at how flawless and easy the process was.

Paul O'Grady died a year ago.
It's 1987. The Metropolitan Police are waging an intimidation campaign against London's LBTQ+ community.
Wearing rubber gloves to "protect from AIDS" they raid the Royal Vauxhall Tavern
"Well well," says Lily Savage (Paul O'Grady) from the stage as the police pile into the venue. "It looks like we’ve got help with the washing up"
The raid was one of a number carried out by the police, using obscure laws as justification for their intimidation.
In this instance, the excuse was "reports of drunkenness on premises"
With Lily continuing to mock the police, she was handcuffed and arrested with others.
Paul refused to drop his alter ego for the entire duration events.
When she was booked in, and ordered to give her name the answer was "Lily Savage".
When a REAL name was demanded, the reply was:
"Lily Veronica Mae Savage"
On release, Lily was back on stage the next night.

jedenfalls: wenn man betna verstanden hat, versteht man, warum die kahlschlagspläne von cdu und spd beim bürgergeld nicht nur die bürgergeldempfänger*innen selbst, sondern uns alle ärmer machen.

bürgergeld ist das allgemeine betna, das unser aller verhandlungsfulcrum stärkt. sinkt das betna, sinkt das leverage aller lohnabhängigen.

es ist völlig irre, dass viele lohnabhängige das auch noch selbst fordern.
