Next week Chancellor Rachel Reeves will again set out how she hopes to see the UK/EU 'reset' help the country battle the economic doldrums in which it (we) drift.
The problem, however, remains:
The UK sees the 'reset' as focussing on strategic areas where there is some benefit to (re)engaging the EU.
What the EU sees is the continuation of a long term policy of cherry-picking and 'having our cake & eating it'.... for the EU the benefits of EU membership come *with* membership!

When a person writes the code the mistakes, which always happen, tend to be way more obvious.
When AI writes code the mistakes can be much harder to spot. AI code tends to “look correct”, which is the point. You have to get past that to see the errors.
WhatsApp Plus kommt mit „neuen, tollen“ Funktionen. Aber nur für Abo-Kunden.
Erst locken sie mit Extras, dann wird das „normale“ WhatsApp Schritt für Schritt so beschnitten, bis es ohne Abo kaum noch nutzbar ist.
Und dann? Dann beginnt das grosse Gejammer: „Boah, warum funktioniert das nicht mehr?“, bis alle brav zahlen und es plötzlich „normal“ ist.

Frau #Reiche wird dereinst einmal in den Geschichtsbüchern stehen als die Frau, welche die #Energiewende im frühen 21 Jahrh. der gesamten Gesellschaft nahezu im Alleingang für 20-25 Jahre ausgebremst und dabei enormen Schaden angerichtet hat. Klar, Leute wie Merkel oder Altmaier oder jetzt Merz, die treffen am Ende die Entscheidung - aber sie arbeitet einflussreich seit bald 20 Jahren im Hintergrund.
Ob sie in diesen Büchern bewundert oder verachtet wird, hängt davon ab, ob wir sie lassen.
Irgendwie symbolisch ziemlich geil, dass die Bundesregierung jegliche Versuche von Erdöl- und Erdgasabhängigkeit endlich wegzukommen EXAKT zu dem Zeitpunkt aufgibt wenn ein neuer Irankrieg ausbricht und die Öl und Gaspreise hochschießen werden.
Manchmal hat das Schicksal doch Humor.

Just think of all the food wasted on Sam Altman for 40 years that didn't manage to make him smart enough to realize that hallucination rates of AI stochastic parrots, which can range from 50 to over 80 percent, are not "efficient", no matter how much energy is wasted on training them. No human is that fallible.
