my broken heart wrote about my struggles with grief on diaryland but not gonna link since i really just wrote it to express something for myself

i will say this here- if you devote your life to sharing the beauty of nature, you will live on forever in the memory of all you have touched... i will never forget the many adventures i shared with my friend & guide & the many ways he helped me improve my birding "eye"

I keep talking about my fledgling Red-bellied Woodpecker but I finally got off my duff this morning to photograph this sweet baby

My heart is broken into pieces, my friend & bird guide of many years that i shared many adventures with, most recently in Panama, has died, it just doesn't seem fair -- he was much younger, i just assumed he would always be there & we were already talking about the next trip...
